Musings

You were
like the sunrise
The light at the end of a long dark night
A ray of hope in familiar disguise
The sunrise
it’s almost always
taken for granted these days
I’d enroll in a world far away, oblivious
But like the sun rising high above
You were
deeply loved

You were
like the sunset
Like the phoenix flecked in gold and red
As a melancholy song plays in my head
The sunset
paints the mighty sky
as the minutes pass me by
It’d prick my eyes like some strange sadness
And just like the sun sets after noon
You were
gone too soon
